What is Reverse Mission?

A movement in which churches and missionaries from Africa, Latin America, and parts of Asia actively engage in evangelism, revitalization, and church planting in regions traditionally considered the “Christian West.”

Missiological

It challenges conventional mission theory, requiring scholars and practitioners to consider non-Western actors as primary agents in global evangelism.

Sociological

It addresses the demographic and cultural shifts in both sending and receiving societies — migration, urbanization, and secularization.

Theological

It emphasizes the sovereignty of God in directing mission flows, highlighting that the gospel transcends cultural and geographic boundaries (Matthew 28:19–20).
